Awaken the explorer in you and visit Gado Gado's extensive collection of tribal art, relics, and other rare items. Over years of collecting, Gado Gado has amassed a wide range of artifacts, from items used in the daily life of a household, to ceremonial ones used for special occasions. A majority of these pieces hail from the Indonesian islands Bali, Java, Sumatra and Timor, but we also carry selected items from Thailand, India, and West & East Africa.
Humans have been fashioning masks for thousands of years and Gado Gado is lucky to have such a beautiful display of them here in our store. Our masks are from Burkina Faso, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Niger, Senegal, Congo, and the Ivory Coast. We also have a large supply of traditional Javanese puppets, which were used to tell centuries'-old Hindu stories and to convey social, political, and festive messages in their performances. In East Timor, the practice of sculpting designed figures from large stones was intended to protect a village from mischievous spirits. Some of these guardian figures have been brought to our store and warehouse, where we can share this remarkable workmanship in Sonoma County. Gado Gado has also collected a number of unique wood carvings from Timor carved to resemble sea creatures, wild animals, and other significant symbols.
Whether to decorate your home or just to add a unique piece to your collection, Gado Gado has all the unique and special items you could desire.
