King’s Bench, West Timor
Carved from a single "kayu merah" log, this bench was used by a province "king" in West Timor, Indonesia. Two impressive bull’s heads (indicating the owners important position) with curved horns are carved on each end, and images of a king wearing a crown are carved on both sides of the seat. Mid-20th century. Very unusual piece!
